Kyle Holland: Unfair Justice System

When I last updated Kyle's story back in December, we were all relieved when we heard that Dwayne and Debralynn were going to be charged with his death. And if you read my post you saw were at the end I put finally some justice for Kyle. When that is NOT the case.

I guess it is really no surprise that a judge basically slapped them both on the wrist with such bs sentences. He got 24 months while Debra got 29 months. I say no surprise because this country has a thing for letting baby killers walk (hint: Casey Anthony).

The ones who suffer the most from injustices like these are the families of these little angels. The only closure one can have is knowing that the person(s) responsible for their hurt is getting the pushiment they deserve. But when the system fails to deliver said punishment, then its as though the crime is being committed over and over again. Just the thought of these two monsters being free to walk the streets, just knowing that she is about to give birth again eats me up inside. I cant imagine what the judge was thinking (smoking) when he handed down such weak sentences. I mean what message is this sending to child abusers?

You look at this photo, and into those beautiful big brown eyes and you can imagine the pain, the hurt and the fear he must have felt that day. Is this judge not human? Does he have a heart of stone?

I guess the only comfort is knowing that one punishment will be handed down upon these two non humans. And it will be a punishment unlike none other.  It is unfair what happened. Something needs to be done about this unfair justice system.

Trayvon Martin

It is more than an ice and a pack of skittles. It is about a 17 year old black kid who lost his life on the night of February 26th and the white/hispanic who is responsible.

Trayvon's death bring fourth what we didnt want to see, the fact that you can still be killed in today's word for being a black male. Since when is it wrong for walking at night wearing a hoodie, minding your own business? Kinda makes you fearful of the fact that it could happen to you or your loves simply because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and because you were the wrong race.

George Zimmerman has maintain since day one that he shot Trayvon in self defense. However, my question is, when is it ever self defense if the other person is unarmed. AND, why is it self defense if the 911 operator instructed him to stop following Trayvon? The more I think about the life that was cut short, the more it pisses me off.

So, let's fast forward to today's announcement that Zimmerman is being charged with second degree murder and why that pisses me off. Now, before I go on, dont mistake this as me not being excited about a charge even being brought against him, I am. However, I believe it is a cop out, and here is why: Trayvon was killed on 2/26/12 and no charges were brought against George Zimmerman. The cops all accepted his bs story about it being self defense. February goes by, March comes and goes and celebrities and hell even President Obama all speak out against the fact that still no charges have been brought up. So finally today, after announcing that there will be no grand jury, after Zimmerman goes into hiding, the state decides to charge him with second degree murder which indicates he had no intentions on killing Trayvon. That is what I am having problems with. You can't say he had no intentions on killing him, because if in fact he didnt, he would have stopped following him like he was told. I think first degree murder charges is more suitable.

Another reason why I am not holding my breath on this is because this is the state of Florida and we all seen how a recent public trial went (Casey Anthony). So I dont have real faith, after all charges are just that, it is not a conviction.

All we can do now is wait, and pray that Trayvon and his family will see justice in the end. If convicted Zimmerman faces up to life in prison. Thats exactly where he needs to be.

Tell me, what are your thoughts on today's annoucement? What are your thoughts on this case in general? Are you team Trayvon or a Zimmerman supported?
