Who knew that Father's Day in 2009 would have such an impact on so many lives?

Three year old Teigan got caught up in her father's issues and it ended up costing her, her short life. Teigan's mom and dad had been divorced since 2007 and according to mom, he had been harassing her and she had to file an OP against him. There was tension between mom and dad and mom's boyfriend. But nothing could prepare Tisha Brown for such a tragedy.

When family members were unable to reach Ryan Peters on his cellphone, they got worried and called the police. They were worried that since the divorce and the lost of the child custody case to his ex wife Tisha, he had became suicidal. On June 19, Tisha had filed a custody interference complaint against Ryan when he failed to return Teigan to her per the agreement.

On June 21, the Mesa Police called the Coconino County Sheriff's Office in an effort to locate Ryan and Teigan. Ryan's family had contacted the Mesa Police around 5:30 pm concerned for him and Teigan. At this point the only thing that is known is that they went camping, but the location is unknown.

Sunday June 22, at about 9 pm, a family member of Ryan's tells police that he talked to Ryan and was told that he was camping in the area between Jacob Lake and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

June 22 at 12:25 am police located a campsite in the area of Parissawampitts Point off of Highway 67 that led to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This is where he discovered two bodies, one to have been an adult male and the other a female child. Both with gunshot wounds. They were identified as Ryan and Teigan Peters. It was determined that Ryan shot his baby girl and then turned the gun on himself.

An innocent life taken. All for what? This beautiful bright blue eyed baby doll was never given a chance at life. Three short years here with her mommy was not nearly enough. Now all we can do is look at photos and videos and wonder what could have been.

Rest in peace precious little girl. You will be missed and in all of our hearts.

For Caylee

August 9th is Caylee's birthday and she would be turning 6 y.o. In honor of her life which was taken too soon the facebook world will be lighting a purple candle for her as well as drawing a heart on our wist. It is a small effort, but the main goal is to always keep Caylee's memory alive.

The lighting of the candle will take place starting on the 9th at 12 am and end on the 11th at 11:30 pm. The candle should be purple, since that was Caylee's favorite color. Draw A Heart On Your Wrist starts on the 9th at 12:30 am and ends on the 10th at 12 am.

Riley Ann Sawyer aka "Baby Grace"

As a woman and mother I dont know how someone could stand by and allow someone to beat to death they child. Well, that is excatly what happened in the case of Riley Ann Sawyers.  

Riley Ann Sawyers was born to Robert Thomas Sawyers and Kimberly  Dawn Trenor on March 11th 2005. Her mom and dad were highschool sweethearts and Kimberly got pregnant at just 15 y.o.

In 2006 Kimberly left the Sawyers' home with Riley and "disappeared".  She moved to Spring, Texas so she could marry Royce Clyde Zeigler II. A man she met online. He believed that Riley should be disciplined to say "sir" and "ma'am" to adults, he had a list of rules for Riley. He believed that corporal punishment was the best way and began to take over the beatings from Kimberly.

On October 29th 2007, a fisherman named Robert Wayne Spinn found a container in the Galveston Bay. He believed it contained human remains. After it was discovered that the container did contain human remains and sketch and basic information was broadcasted. They officer's called her "Baby Grace".

In November, Riley's paternal grandmother Sheryl Sawyers called police after seeing a composite. She told them that she thought the drawing was of her granddaughter Riley who she hadn't seen in a while.

After a DNA submission from both Robert and Kimberly it was determined that the tiny remains in that container were Riley Ann Sawyers. During a videotape confession, Kimberly told police that she and Royce beat Riley with two leather belts, held her head under water in the bathtub. She said then Royce picked Riley up by her hair and threw her across the room causing her to hit her head on the tile floor. Kimberly also told police officers that Riley was smothered with a pillow. And then given child pain medications. Afterwards, poor Riley was ordered to stand, but she didnt have control of her legs. Once they realized that Riley was dead, they never discuss calling 911. Kimberly never once tried to stop the beatings. Instead the couple went to Wal-Mart and purchased a blue Sterlite storage container which is what they used to put Riley's little body in. They kept the container in the garage for two months before Royce decided it was time to move her because she started to smell. They tossed the container in the Galveston Causeway.

Kimberly told officers that Royce had attempted suicide and wrote a note where he appeared to take full blame for Riley's death:
To Whom It May Concern
I Royce Zeigler II leave my property to Kimberly Tenor Zeigler my wife. I take my own life because of guilt for past sins which I have confessed before I took life. My wife Kimberly Zeigler is innocent and lived in fear...because of thought of what I would do to her. Also my family can go burn in hell for their stress that they've caused. So here I take my own life.

During the DA's opening statement, she told the jury that Riley tried to stop her mom and stepfather from beating her by reaching out too her mom and saying "I love you". She also told the jury that Riley died because she forgot to say "please" and "thank you". Remember the list of rules Royce had for Riley here it is:
1. Being polite
2. Listen to mom & me
3. Sleep at 8 pm
4. Nap at 2 pm
5. Toys stay in her room
6. Puts toys back where she got em
7. Behaves in public
8. Never alone in out room
9. Chocolate/cake or treats only as a reward

Simple right. A two year old should be able to follow these rules right? Although Royce later said during his trail that he was in a seperate room when Riley died, the jury did not buy it. They convicted him of capital murder on November 6th 2009 and received life in prison with no chance of parole. Kimberly was also convicted of capital murder on February 2nd 2009 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 38 years. Her first eligible parole date is November 24th 2047. I think they both should have received the death penalty. The courts showed them way more mercy then either one of them showed sweet baby Riley.

May you rest in peace sweet angel. You are with God and no one will hurt you anymore.

Jaquinn Brewton

Jaquinn Brewton was found unconscience on June 29th by police after they were told of a child falling out of an apartment window. He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support until he died two weeks later.

This beautiful 3 year old boy died after a long period of abuse suffered from the hands of his godmother and her boyfriend. His was placed in their care by his mother after she went into a homeless shelter along with her 5 other kids.

Police said that Jaquinn had been kicked and punched, his hands, feet and bottom were burned with a blowtorch. "The little boy took all the pain that he could until he couldnt take it anymore" Capt James Clark said. He also said that in the 22 years he has been in the police department, this is one saddest cases he has seen.

Nadera Batson and her boyfriend Marcus King were arrested and charged with murder and other charges. His mother thought she could trust these people. She put the life of her 3 year old baby boy in their hands thinking he was safe, not knowing that she was handing him over to two of Satans own. A mistake that cost him his life. She will live with that for the rest of her life. I cant help but think about how often little Jaquinn must have sat there waiting for his mommy to come a save him from these monsters. And when she didnt, God did. Taking him away from all the pain in his world and bringing him into a world where these people will NEVER be. God bless you Jaquinn. Your in Gods hands now.

This sweet face as you know is Caylee Marie Anthony. On June 16, 2008 Casey Anthony left her parents home with Caylee and did not return for 31 days.During this time it was reported that Casey's mom Cindy made repeated attempts to talk to Caylee but was refused by Casey, Casey saying she was too busy with work or that Caylee was with Zanny the nanny.

The fact is that Casey was not working and although Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez aka Zanny the nanny did exist, but she NEVER met Casey, Caylee or anyone in the Anthony family.

During the 31 days that Caylee was "missing" Casey was out doing the things someone who has sudden found themselves kid free would do. Getting tattoos "Bella Vita" or "Beautiful Life", going to Fusion nightclub entering in hard body contest, spending the day in bed with her boyfriend. Who waits a whole month to report their daughter missing? Going for mother of the year there Casey?

On July 13th 2008, Cindy and George Anthony recieved a certified mail notice from the post office attached to their door. When George went to pick up the letter it was a notice informing him that Casey's car was towed. And then he went to pick up the car and upon entering the car both George and the tow yard attendant noticed a strong odor and it was even stronger in the truck. It could only be described as a decomposing human. It wasnt until July 15th 2008 that Caylee was reported missing, it was from Cindy not Casey. During the 911 call, Cindy admitted it had been 31 days and also it smelled like a human body had been in Casey's car.

This presious baby was taken at just 2 years old. Casey Anthony was eventually indicted on first degree murder, but was acquitted on all charges. What an outrage. The world was jaw dropped. How could a jury hear everything that they had heard and seen everything they had seen how could they let her walk away with murder? One lie after another told by Casey Anthony. Who knows the truth? Casey does thats for sure.

This is the way things should have always been between Casey and Caylee. A loving mother and her beautiful baby girl. Caylee should have always been protected by her mom. But instead of Caylee being able to look into the eyes of a loving mother, she looked into the eyes of the woman who not only gave her life, but would take it as well. This is the photo of a little girl who loved and adored her mom. Casey failed her daughter and then the state of Florida failed Caylee.

Because there is such outrage over the verdict many people took to Facebook and Twitter. So many pages in support of Caylee and against Casey. As well as support pages for Zenaida Gonzalez-Fernandez and the lawsuit she is bringing against Casey. Michelle Crowder from Oklahoma has petitioned for "Caylee's Law". This law would make it a felony for a parent or guardian to not report a child missing. Already, 18 states have drafted their own version of the law. "Caylee's Law" has gained such national attention. I have signed the petition. There are also petitions keeping Casey from profiting off of Caylee's death, boycotts against different book publishing companies and broadcast networks all in an effort too stop them from inking a deal with Casey Anthony.

Caylee Marie Anthony will NEVER be forgotten. She is with the Lord safe and secure from all of harm. Casey maybe all smiles now because she and her lawyers managed to escape man's justice but in the end she will not and can not escape God's justice. R.I.P Caylee, your sleeping with the angels now.

Sandra Cantu

I was watching Discover on ID this morning when the story of 8 year old Sandra Cantu came on. It is such a sad story as all of these stories are. This is a story about a little girl who trusted everyone and who was loved by all she knew. She will be missed.

This sweet faced little girl is Sandra Cantu. She was just 8 years old when a neighbor she trusted ended her life. What started out as a normal day on March 27, 2009 would end like no other.  Sandra trusted everyone, she always talked to people, always wanted to help someone. All the kids knew that they were not to leave of out the mobile home park where Sandra lived, so when she didn't make it home in time for dinner, her mom knew something was wrong. After searching and calling for Sandra, her mom called the police and reported her missing at 8:00 pm. She was last seen wearing a pink Hello Kitty top and black leggings as seen here in the surveillance tape.

The video camera was installed by Sandra's grandfather to warned off vandalism and instead capture what maybe his granddaughter's last few moments. A search was on. Shortly after Sandra's mom received a text message from neighbor Melissa Huckaby, informing her that someone had stolen her black suitcase out of the garage, she wasn't sure if it was connected to Sandra's disappearance or not. After searching and searching for Sandra, on April 6th 2009, police reported that some farmers preparing for irrigation discovered a black suit case that had floated to the top. The suitcase was removed and transported to the morgue and after examination of the contains, it was determined that the body found in the suitcase that of Sandra Cantu. Upon further examination of Sandra's body, it was also determined that she was sexual assaulted with an object, toxicology reports showed that Sandra had been drugged.

When the medical examiner opened the suitcase Sandra was in the perfect fetal position, she had been redressed, her sandals were placed in the bottom of the suitcase. She had been strangled with a cloth, her genitalia was bruised, her clothing smelled of rubbing alcohol used to smother her.

Tracing back from the text message from Melissa to Sandra's mom, Melissa's past history and her attempt at suicide by swallowing 3 blades, police were able to gather evidence against her. The cord that was found on the outside of the suitcase matched the same cord on a blind inside the Church belonging to her grandfather. In the kitchen of the Church they found a rolling pin with a smudge on it, DNA proved it to be the DNA from Sandra. It was used to sexual assault her.  On April 10th 2009, police arrested Melissa Huckaby and charged her with the murder, kidnap, and rape of Sandra Cantu. 

Melissa Huckaby accepted a plea bargain, spearing her the death penalty. She would not be convicted of rape or kidnapping. She would be charged with the first degree murder of Sandra Cantu. She received life without the possibility of parole. A sentence still more merciful then the sentence she handed down to Sandra. I can only hope that her dreams are nightmares. And that she suffers everyday for the rest of her life.
